Everyone, I have the most wonderful news! I got engaged to my soul mate and bestest friend this week!!! Cort asked me to marry him! Yes yes yes! A thousand times yes!
We were planning to spend Labor Day together to celebrate our half year anniversary as a couple and decided to go to Hanging Rock early in the morning and bring coffee in a thermos go drink on top of the mountain. After hiking up so many steep rocks and stairs, we finally got to the top and we were all alone (thank God).
We couldn't see the beautiful view cause it was really misty out but it was so romantic that way. And he proposed with a coffee mug on top of a mountain! I mean, really, can a guy do anything more perfect for me?!?! This guy knows me. He's amazing.
Even from the moment I met Cort two years ago, I knew he was different and after a few days of being around him, I had a crush on him. He's sweet, quiet, humble, and extremely hard-working. After a while, I found out he's also extremely hilarious and can imitate just about anyone (including Mushu from Mulan and Smeagol from Lord of the Rings. Perfectly.) After a bit longer, I noticed his sweet relationship with his mom and sisters. After about a month of dating him, there was no doubt in my mind that he was the one. They do exist, people. I am normally a total realist and very un-romantic but I think God created Cort just for me. He's an encourager, a leader, and a lover. It's going to be such a privilege to be able to love him, serve him, and share and enjoy life as husband and wife.
